Based on the practical requirement of Vietnam National Academy of Music
to build up the subject of instrumental music education, from 2007 up
to now a special program has been designed for instrumental teachers of
VNAM. During three years, a group of six key teachers majored on
piano, winds, strings, voice and accordion have been coached by
Norwegian experts leaded by Prof. Grete helle Rasmussen – Dean of music
education of BarratDue institute of Music.

In the framework of Transpositions, the cultural exchange project
between Vietnam and Norway, a group of artists leaded by Professor
Stephan Barrat Due, principal of the Institute was in Hanoi to conduct
the master class at strings department of the Vietnam National Academy
of Music from 12 to 16 November 2013.

At
the invitation of the Agency for Cultural of Japan and the Association
of Japanese Symphony Orchestras, Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra - Vietnam
National Academy of Music attended the Asian Orchestra Week (AOW) in
Tokyo and Fukushima cities from 2nd to 5th October 2012. This is the
second time the orchestra was invited to attend the event, the first
trip was held in 1998.

At the Geidai Arts Summit 2012 in Tokyo, Japan The "Geidai Arts Summit
2012 - From Asia to the World - the Development and Cooperation" was
successfully held in Tokyo from 9 to 12 October 2012 to celebrate the
125th anniversary of the establishment of Tokyo University of the Arts.
The 23 art institutes from 8 countries and area: Korea, Taiwan,
Mongolia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan
participated this symposium to consider how to cooperate among art
universities from Asia to the world and create new Asian art.

To celebrate
the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in May 2012, British Council Vietnam with
support from Diageo Vietnam invited the all-female UK acapella group
Black Voices to Vietnam to perform for the first time. Black Voices is a
unique and truly outstanding quality acapella band who has entertained
Former President Nelson Mandela, The Late Pope and most of the members
of the British Royal Family. Black Voices appeared first in City Opera
House, Ho Chi Minh City on 20 May then at Hanoi Opera House on 21 May
2012.

In order to strengthen relations between the Socialist Republic of
Vietnam and the Republic of Colombia through culture, the Colombia´s
Ministry of Foreign Affairs arranges the musical project “Colombian
beats “ in Hanoi presenting the workshop given by the Colombian maestro
Samuel Torres, widely recognized as a virtuoso at home and abroad.

In the framework of the cooperation tetween the Embassy of the Republic
of Chile and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam,
the Chilean duo arrived in Hanoi on 20 and 21 October 2012. Members of
the group are the two famous artists Vivianna Guzman (flute) and Mahani
Teave (piano).
