The concert We Return

In the evening of June 19, 2020, at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, a concert We return took place. This event marked the return of artists on stage after such a long period of COVID-19 hiatus. The program was derived from the ideas of ​​four artists namely conductor Honna Tetsuji, artist Nguyen Tri Dung - Director of Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra, Meritorious Artist Bui Cong Duy - Deputy Director of Viet Nam National Academy of Music and Meritorious Artist Tran Ly Ly - Director of Viet Nam National Opera and Ballet Theater. Attending the concert, there were General To Lam - Politburo Member, Minister of Public Security, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh - Director of Department of Performing Arts, ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions, journalists and crowded audience of academic classical music lovers.

Particularly, the concert was the performance of about 150 artists from the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra of the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, the Viet Nam National Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Viet Nam National Symphony Orchestra under the conducting of Japanese conductor - Honna Tetsuji. Four soloists participating in the concert were lecturers from the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, such as Hoang Manh Lam (oboe), Nguyen Thien Minh (violin), Nguyen Huy Phuong and Nguyen Trinh Huong (piano).

A number of the world’s famous pieces of music were performed throughout the concert, such as Overture from the opera La Gazza Ladra of G. Rosini, Concerto for the oboe, violin and orchestra in D-minor, BWV 1060 of J.S. Bach, Concerto for two pianos and orchestra in D-minor, FP 61 of F. Poulenc and symphonic poem Pini di Roma of O. Repsighi. The concert brought sublimation moments to the artists on the stage, marking their strong and passionate return after the covid epidamic. It was also a promise of successful collaborations between the three leading units in performing classical academic music of Viet Nam in the near future. ■
