In
the framework of Transpositions, the cultural exchange project between
Vietnam and Norway, a group of artists leaded by Professor Stephan
Barrat Due, principal of the Institute was in Hanoi to conduct the
master class at strings department of the Vietnam National Academy of
Music from 12 to 16 November 2013.
Apart from the hours for
violin, viola, cello coaching the Norwegian professors/artists spent
time to train the ensemble skills for students in the faculty. In
particular, in this visit the Norwegian collaborated with Vietnamese
string lecturers and students to rehearse a chamber program introducing
the works: From String Trio of Dohnayi; Sextet in B Flat Major of J.
Brahms and Simple Symphony of Britten. The concert was introduced at
Vietnamese Cultural Space at 79 Hang Trong, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi at 20h00 on
15 of June 11, 2012. The expert’s visit not only provided useful
lessons to string students but also contributed to enrich the musical
life of the capital.
With the permission of the Project and the
Board of Directors the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the dean of
strings department has held an audition in which Professor Stephan
BarratDue made the selection of young musical talent for a short-term
training in Norway in July 2013.
